M&p22 Compact Review - The Smith & Wesson M&P line of polymer pistols has been a huge success for the Springfield, Massachusetts-based gun maker. Not exactly news. After some initial attempts to resist the impact of polymer bullet pistols for about a generation, the M&P line has evolved into a dedicated following that appreciates the ergonomics, options and durability of the pistols. But searching through the M&P product line, one model was missing. Yes, Smith offered the M&P22, but it was the largest gun still made in Germany by Walther, a holdover from the former company. With other smaller options like the Walther P22 and the relatively new Ruger SR22, Smith needed to compete with his ".22 tactical". Hence the M&P22 Covenant. . .
The M&P22 is not a scaled-down version of the larger Walther .22. As Smith has managed to accomplish, this is a new design from the ground up that was made right here in the good old United States of America.
M&p22 Compact Review
If you're an M&P devotee, and there are legions of them, nothing about this new, little .22 will be unfamiliar. Smith says the M&P22 Compact is exactly 87.5% (not 87%, not 88%) the size of the full size M&P9 and definitely looks the part, with the same grip angle you know and love. The single action is a blowback case with an aluminum slide and carbon barrel attached to the frame. Oh, and this is also a given for ammunition, we just ask that you jump through all the necessary ATF hoops.

As for the steering wheel, there are safety-style ambidextrous paddles that are wide enough to easily turn and break. The magazine release is on the left side, where God is aiming, but handy lefties can bend it to the left side if they wish. If you're wondering if you've made a round, there's a slot-loaded chamber at the top of the slide. And if you really intend to fire your .22, you need to insert a magazine, because the magazine won't let the gun go without one.
Speaking of magazines, the M&P22 Alliance comes with two 10-round magazines. There is also a gun case with a fully adjustable hex key to the rear sight, a gun lock, firing pin, and an integrated safety key to lock the gun. Do yourself a favor and throw it away.
The 22-pounder (in the safe position) is actually pretty good, especially for the .22 polymer, which breaks consistently under 6 pounds. Not as squishy as a Glock, but you're probably guessing. The reset is quick and short, making the shot a breeze.
22. This means that, like all other M&P's out there, the Picatinny is mounted on the length of the rail for the pleasure of shooting. Lights, lasers, mounting hooks, blades... if you have the necessary buckle, move it because you can hang it from your 22 League.

The lift is exactly what you would expect. Release the magazine, clear the chamber and close the slide back, then move the receiver bar ninety degrees until it points. Pull back and lift. After the backup is empty, everything proceeds to clean the barrel, and Robert is your father's brother.
The M&P22 Compact has a conventional look with three easily visible white dots. Nice part: The rear sight is very adjustable for windage and elevation. Edged and edged sights are so pigeon-holed that they can easily be swapped out if desired.
Don't like gun safety boards? Join the club. However, there are many who do not want to have a gun without one, and this
But in one battle with a weapon. So the double safety on the M&P22 is not what you typically get with a small pistol of this type. The lock frame should be very easy to assemble and tear. Something that you can practice and that works easily without interference. Engineer Smith did exactly that. Think 1911 safeties that you can pop on and off with the flick of your thumb.
A Big Little Surprise From Smith & Wesson: The M&p22 Compact Pistol
It sends us things. Like most handguns, with good ammo the 22 League is as accurate as you can get. Probably more. Perhaps the only time I encountered a gun was when we got them from Smith & Wesson cases. They brought a supply of two kinds of goods to the Confederacy. If memory serves, the Federal Champion worked like a charm at 1260 fps. However, the slightly overpowered 1080fps Federal Gold Medal gun didn't always work.
Since then, I've tested the gun with five or six different flavors of rimfire cartridges, including Aguila, CCI Mini Mags, CCI Blazers, a pair of Wolf Targets, and even bolts. No questions were found for the Alliance M&P22. Twenty-two semi-auto rifles are notoriously picky about ammo, so I don't mind having a figure that wants to eat the gun. And recently the most mild effects - about 600 uncomfortable rounds or so - I attribute the first rejection to new growing pains.
All in all, Smith & Wesson have built a very elegant pistol here. It is true to the M&P tradition in design and function, so it will be a nice addition for those who want to install something lighter than a full-size carry gun. It is accurate enough and light enough to be a two-ton joke for dogs to pick up at a meadow or a cannon fence at 20 yards. And if you're a newbie to firearms, you're about to be introduced to the joys
And yes, if you're a small person, have contracted or impaired upper body strength, or just have a severe aversion to recoil, the M&P22 Covenant won't be a bad home defense weapon either (whatever the inevitable comments below may ask otherwise). All that and the street price in the $350 range make the gun hard to resist.

Once I picked up a lower load that I didn't like in the morning, it was 100% sure. He does not stop feeding or throwing hundreds of rounds.
No, this is not primarily intended as carrying a gun. .22 It is the case of John Moses Browning. But some people don't. It is not a small weapon known to them. Again it is only 13% smaller than the full size M&P9. That said, you'll have no problem carrying or concealing the M&P22 Covenant in a good holster.
Please It is a .22LR pistol that weighs almost a pound. Don't be afraid of consideration. Add to that the shooter-friendly design of the M&P line that many know and love, and here you have an exceptional shot gun.
This is a very well made 22LR pistol. It doesn't have a solid Mark III or Mark Buck. Again, those are not "imperial" 22s and weigh more than twice as much as the Covenant M&P22. This polymer gun is built with an aluminum slide, a completely different animal that feels substantial and fits well in the hand.

Smith & Wesson needs to build itself to compete with the SR22s and P22s. The M&P22 Covenant certainly fills the bill for a bell. It's a reliable smooth-shooting pistol that's perfect for upgrading your larger M&Ps, starting a new shoot, or just shooting. It's hard to see what the M&P22 Covenant does well for what it is. And it's a bargain at just $389 (MSRP). Among the more attractive recent offerings from Smith and Wesson is the Covenant M&P22. This pistol bears similarities to the 9mm shield, but differs in mechanics.
Smith and Wesson claims that they have worked hard on this line of guns and that their team pays attention to reliability and quality standards.
His are the truths. The pistol features a hard anodized 7075 TG51 aluminum slide. The frame is a modern polymer.
The result is a nice pistol that doesn't look cheap, but is affordable. Because of the pistol's construction, it weighs 15.3 ounces.

A suitable gun is the best. Most hand sized .22 Soldiers and Polites find that they are well balanced and tend to move quickly.
An 18-degree grip angle, that is, a rectangular grip 18 degrees from the north line, makes for a good finish.
This is a fun drill: shoot the smallest silhouette of the B27 at 10 meters. The M&P22 is very accurate for most tasks.
The pistol uses a conventional spring and guide rod. Action, disassembly and handling are fairly easy and the trigger breaks cleanly.

The distribution is well done in ten round units. I like better magazines than polymer or cheap magazines.
Some .22s look cheap, but not this gun. The plan is not primarily a builder, but for self-defense use.
Similarly, the pistol is accurate enough to shoot and hit a random target. The accuracy is also quite useful
