Taurus Glock 9 - Let's get this out of the way now, the Taurus doesn't have the best reputation among gun enthusiasts, or me for that matter. They are cheap, uncomfortable, and sometimes unreliable. That changed with the G3. I'm going to eat crow and say I've hated the Taurus for a long time, but honestly, the G3 is great. It won't replace my Glock, but it works well and will definitely appeal to some people who don't want to spend a lot of money on a gun that does the same thing.

I love talking about the G3's reliability, especially since it's a Taurus product. Cycling has been a serious issue with the Taurus for years and I was very tired before I picked up the G3.

I'm happy to report that the G3 handled every type of ammo I put in it as well as its little brother the G2C. You don't have to worry that this thing will confuse you a bit. Reliability should be at the top of your list when it comes to carrying guns for self-defense.

I would seriously consider getting the G3 if I didn't have other guns with things like red dots. The shooting makes sense and I would even agree with guns costing a few hundred bucks more than this. This makes me think seriously about the price of guns that come with today's guns and their performance.

I find the G3 looks plain. They're not eye-catching, but nothing to write home about. The best places are almost identical because it is your three dot style. The pictures aren't that important, but I like to say it because some people don't want to carry a bad gun.

Speaking of portability, the G3 is an excellent choice when it comes to concealment. It's a "full size" G2C but feels like your run-of-the-mill compact gun. Walking comfortably doesn't have to be a problem.

You'll find that the trigger is functional, if not a little squishy. Overall, it's about a 6 lb good pull, but I found myself missing the pull on the Geissele. The important part is that the G3 feels good to shoot.

Magazine capacity depends on the model you buy. You can get it with 2x 10 round mags, 15 round mags, or 17 round mags. I chose the 15 because it was similar to what I usually carry.

Every G3 model they have comes in under $400. I have to say, this is a pretty good deal, especially considering this is Taurus' best ride to date.

I don't know how to hack Taurus guns, but I honestly don't have too much trouble with the G3. Its quality is excellent and it makes a perfect G2C partner. They haven't fully redeemed themselves yet, but the G3 has positioned Taurus well on its way to a better name.

If there was one handgun in our review of the best handguns of 2022 that exceeded expectations, it was the Taurus G3X. We shot the hell out of a whole range of new full-size, sub- and subcompact pistols, and when the dust settled, the G3X was the standout gun of the entire test group.

The Compact 9mm is a compact and affordable handgun, designed to compete with the Glock G19 (which it is heavily promoted with). It is a polymer-framed, assault-fired pistol with two 15-round magazines. The Taurus G3X shares some similarities with the G19—which sets the standard in its class—but also has important differences that set it apart. What's more, the G3X comes at a great price.

The compact handgun field is full of similar guns that have the same features and do the same things. It's a small market, and it's very difficult for individual guns to be found. Differentiation is usually done through a combination of good quality features and price. The Taurus G3X scores well in both areas.

Speaking of size, the G3X has a shorter barrel than most pistols in the compact class. It has a 3.2-inch barrel which is shorter than the Glock G19's 4.02-inch barrel, and most compact handguns have 3.8 to 4-inch barrels. While the barrel length is about what you'll find in the micro-compact category, the length and frame are sized to hold 15-round magazines – the same capacity as the G19. A slightly shorter barrel will make a difference in comfort and mobility while carrying, especially in an accessory carry position.

Another unique feature of the Taurus G3x is that it has "retrigger capability," which means that if you get a light strike and the gun doesn't fire, you can pull the trigger again and it will fire. . first again. Although this is not a feature that is likely to be used often, small primers can occur occasionally. I have had primers fail to fire on the first strike with several shots because the primers were not fully seated in the case.

The G3X's starting factor is good and our sample broke in at 5 pounds, 8 ounces—a half-pound under the published 6-pound specification. Rifles that shoot fighters have a lot of travel before the gun breaks, but it's not too bad. It has a trigger safety that must be depressed for the gun to fire, and the gun breaks cleanly and has a nice tactile reset.

First Look: Taurus G3x Pistol

The Taurus G3X comes with two 15-round steel magazines and several members of our testing team noted that the quality of the magazines was better than they expected considering the price. Good magazines can be downplayed and ignored, but bad magazines can ruin the performance and reputation of a good gun. For example, one gun in our test had a magazine with a follower that caused a huge error—and it's hard to ignore even the best gun.

Overall, the Taurus G3X is a no-frills, clean, good-looking pistol. Despite its short barrel, it has a single-slot rail on the front of the frame, low-profile sights, and a nice slide profile for easy carrying and drawing. . The grip has a nice stipple pattern that provides a secure grip, and the frame has other attention-grabbing details, like a ridge to keep the slide from collapsing.

If I had to be picky, the only aesthetic thing I don't like about the gun is the way the serial number is written on the barrel and slide—it looks like it was hand punched. This gun looks out of place.

Out of a field of about 20 total guns, the Taurus G3X stood out when we started shooting it. We found it to be accurate, reliable, and easy to shoot—even compared to other, more expensive rifles.

Taurus G2s Compact 9mm Review

We took about 350 shots with the Taurus G3X, and it handled everything reliably. We use 115 grain loads from Federal Premium and U.S. Cartridge, Hornady Black 124-grain XTP protective loads, Winchester 147-grain FMJ's, even 147-grain Nosler ASP protective loads—all without a hiccup. We drive the G3X a lot and every now and then we give it another CLP slide rails and barrel for lubrication.

The handles and frames make the gun easy to shoot and hang. From a performance standpoint, the Taurus G3X punches above its weight class. The recoil impulse is smooth for a compact 9mm, and the gun is easy to control while shooting quickly and moving between targets. After warming up the gun for two days, we were very satisfied with it. It ran perfectly and everything was still tight at the end of the process.

The Taurus G3X simply does what a polymer-framed 9mm pistol should do. It shoots, and shoots reliably with good quality. We weren't sure if we'd see a performance gap because of the price, and we're happy to say we don't.

We don't have any functional complaints, but a neater serial number engraved on the slide and barrel would have given the gun a cleaner look, and the cut-out optics would have been brighter.
